Additional information

Hi Igor, Your journey of transition to technology and Workday is very encouraging. I am also transitioning to Workday and have been very inquisitive about learning new skills. I would love to have a mentor like the one you had who could guide me and bring the best out of me since I am passionate about learning more modules in Workday and keep myself updated. Thank you again for the inspiring story, this will keep my spirits high throughout my journey. Best wishes to you Thank you, Rupali

The way that I have always approached mentorship is to seek out people who know what I want to know and who do what I want to do. These are the individuals that have already been where you are and can help guide you there. My recommendation is that regardless of where you work, proactively reach out to those individuals at your workplace. Ask if they would like to discuss their career journey with you over a coffee or a quick meeting. There is an excellent chance that the person you ask will be happy to tell you of their successes and failures along the way. While it is usually the responsibility of the mentee to find people to mentor them, here at Kognitiv, we will happily assign you a mentor from a pool of employees who take great pride in mentoring other people. I hope this answer helps and I wish you all the best!

Great question! I made my transition to the Workday ecosystem earlier this year and I couldn't be happier. I had spent my early career in public accounting and industry accounting before joining Kognitiv in January of this year. My approach to mentorship is looking for individuals that have experienced and were successful at what I am trying to achieve. I reached out to past coworkers, friends, family and more to see what a career transition would look like. Within my first month at Kognitiv, I took note of individuals that could help me achieve the goals I set out for myself (with the help of my manager).

Once you identify the individuals that could contribute to your success, schedule times to meet to go over your goals and a gameplan of how you can achieve those goals. Here at Kognitiv, I have received a ton of support from mentors I sought out. I would encourage you to constantly be on the lookout for additional mentors as your goals change.

Good luck in your transition!
