Jake R.
Associate Financials Consultant
In my short time here at Kognitiv, I can definitely say that I have really improved on my problem solving skills and communication/collaboration skills. To me, these skills go hand-in-hand, especially in the way that Kognitiv operates. On a daily basis, I am challenged with new client questions, error messages, roadblocks when building a report, etc. I love this aspect because there is a new "problem" I can solve each day.
At first, this was intimidating to me because I did not have Workday experience prior to starting with Kognitiv. I could talk the financial language our clients were speaking, but I wasn't quite sure how to configure the solution. That is where the communication/collaboration skills come in handy. Here at Kognitiv, we do have separate departments and teams within those departments, but the inter and intra-departmental communication/collaboration at Kognitiv is top notch. Because I have a financial background, if a client asks a payroll related question that our HCM consultants can answer, I am able to reach out to the HCM group and receive an answer quickly. The same goes for other departments when they have a financial related question. Communication/collaboration and problem solving skills are crucial to your success at Kognitiv (and elsewhere IMO!) and you will quickly develop, improve and sharpen these skills here!
