I think there are likely many roads to becoming an Implementer! But, it's also important to know that the various consultant groups that work to implement Workday represent a variety of options in the type of work available. Some organizations are Workday Partners and work primarily on implementations only. As such, the consultants often work one implementation project after another. I have not worked in one of those organizations myself, but I have been told by others who have that there is a fair amount of direction and template-like guidance from Workday on those implementations, so there may not be as much creative freedom/ ability to problem-solve to meet specific client requirements in those projects.

Other organizations who are not Implementation Partners with Workday may also do implementations as part of their service offerings (like Kognitiv!) -- but, because there aren't strict partner guidelines involved, there is a bit more ability (in my opinion) to meet the new Workday customer's specific needs in the implementation. Additionally, other work (like smaller enhancement projects and post-production support) are also typically available in this type of environment (one that is not primarily focused on implementations). I may be a bit biased, but I find that the variety of work available in an organization that provides more services than implementations makes my work as a consultant more intellectually stimulating and fulfilling.

That being said, for those who want to only work on new implementations, then I think there are a lot of great options out there! I would look to the Workday Partners pages on Workday's website to find consultant organizations who work primarily on implementations if that is your passion, and look for job openings with those organizations. Just some food for thought as you consider your career opportunities -- there is definitely room in the ecosystem for different organizations that focus on different services, so it's important to consider what work you want to be doing on a daily basis and if working solely on implementations will provide you with enough job satisfaction. Best wishes!
