My first year at Kognitiv was both challenging and rewarding; it required some time to understand the company's culture, methodology, and values. The essential values of ownership, work-life balance, and transparency are taken very seriously and it took me some time for it to sink in. It was also wonderful to see how everyone in the organization was extremely friendly and helpful. I also spent a significant amount of time studying the product under development and its technology stack. I also spoke with other employees to build relationships, develop ideas, and learn about technology trends in other parts of the company. Overall, I would say that my first year was a really rewarding experience on many levels, and it definitely benefited me in building my present level of competence.

I agree with everything Mayur said. The first year at Kog is difficult, but it's rewarding. Learning and embracing the company culture and values were struggle points for me. I just didn't believe it was real. I kept waiting to see how it wasn't real. But everyone at Kognitiv really does expect everyone else to act like owner and to have their own version of work-life balance. Even the friendliness and welcoming can be a shock, but it's all real. Kog is just that great and my Kogmates are amazing too. I spent a lot of time developing relationships with co-workers and finding out how they work and why it works for them. I also spent time asking our Product Leads questions about how they got to where they are. Everyone has their own journey with Workday and the stories I've heard demonstrate how and why our differences make us great.
